My view on the class
Today was my final day in Human geo. I am glad it's over because the blogs are a pain, but overall I enjoyed it as a class. There were a lot of interactive conversations and many funny arguments. In addition to that I felt like I learned a lot about certain scholars and movements created by special people. My one problem with the class is how we never talked about war. To me war is the most interesting subject by learning how to outsmart and overcome your enemy on the field. I think my favorite class topic was the U.S immigration one. It was the best because people in the class with no knowledge of the crisis were giving there ignorant opinion and it was quite entertaining. In the end, this was a good class that I never really had a problem with.

Each of the 5 religions
Christianity - Christianity is the largest religion as it is made up of 2.2 billion followers around the world. It has its main groups in the Americas, Europe, and Southern Africa, and the followers are called christians. Their founder is Jesus Christ (4-36 Ad). In addition to the religion being as big as it is, it has many many different versions of the origin and beliefs of early christians. These include Catholics, Orthodox, Protestants, Lutherans, etc... However, they all have the same leader, God. The most dominant of the religions is Catholicism. Its holy book is the Bible, and they believe in the Holy Trinity as the body of God. They primary believe in the New Testament
Islam - Islam is the second largest religion made with 1.5 billion followers. The followers are called muslims. The primary places where it is practiced is Indonesia, Middle East, and North Africa. It has two groups called the Sunnies, and the Shiites. These two groups hate each other and want to kill each other because they both think their religion is batter than the other. Their founder is Mohamed (570-632 Ad) a prophet. Their holy book is the Koran. Their beliefs include The Five Pillars. Monothesicstic
Hinduism - Hinduism is the third largest religion with 1.1 billion followers. They are called Hindues. They are most concentrated in India and Nepal. 97% live in India. It came out a few thousand years before christ. Longest religion. Their Holy book called the Vedas includes songs that date backs thousands of years ago. Passed down by oral tradition. However, there is no founder, they were created by various suggestions. Also, the Hindues believe in reincarnation meaning that when you die you are born into a new body.
Buddhism - Buddhism is the fourth largest religion with anywhere from 500 million to 1.5 billion. The reason there is such a wide range is because there are many practicing Buddhists but many don't call themselves Buddhists. They are primarily in Southeast Asia, China, Nepal, and Japan. There are only 1.2 million in the United States. Their founder is Siddhartha Gautama. He "lived in Nepal during the 6th to 4th century B.C". Also, their main beliefs are in the eight fold path meaning that if you can follow this completely, you will become divine. They also believe in the four noble truths. They want to get to Nirvana. Also believe in reincarnation.
Judaism - Judaism is a religion of 14-18 million followers. They are called Jews. Most live in Israel and the United States. Their Holy book is the Torah which is the first five books of the Old Testament. Their founder is Abraham. "Jews believe Jesus of Nazareth did not fulfill messianic prophecies that establish the criteria for the coming of the messiah. Judaism rejects Jesus as God, Divine Being, intermediary between humans and God, messiah or holy." They don't believe in the new testament
Islam - Islam is the second largest religion made with 1.5 billion followers. The followers are called muslims. The primary places where it is practiced is Indonesia, Middle East, and North Africa. World religions
The four largest religions. "These four religions together claim adherence of 77%of the worlds population. Christians, Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism. They say 2.2 billion are christian, 1.6 billion for Islam, 1 billion for Hindu, and 500 million for Buddhists." In my opinion I feel like this shows that religion plays a part in a lot of peoples lives no matter where you are. Even though I fall under the Christian umbrella, I have major respect for other religions, especially the ones that require certain quotas. In addition to quotas for some religions, they force them to wear certain clothes which I disagree free with. In the end, I am happy I am a part of Christianity and I would have it no other way.

The Questions
- "Rig-Veda “Knowledge of the Hymns of Praise”, for recitation. 1017 hyms
- Sama-Veda “Knowledge of the Melodies”, for chanting. 1549 hyms
- Yajur-Veda “Knowledge of the Sacrificial formulas”, for liturgy. 730 hyms
- Atharva-Veda “Knowledge of the Magic formulas”, named after a kind of group of priests. 730 hyms"
Indulgences were used as a way for the church to make money. They were papers that would say if you pay money to the church your ancestors and family will reach heaven faster than wait in purgatory. They were also used as a get out of jail free card for sinning.
I believe this turned Martin Luther off this because he never saw it in the Bible and that is what he believed what the church should go off of. So in his despite of the church he decided to start his own religion that he thought followed the Bible.
- The Hajj is "The Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca that takes place in the last month of the year, and that all Muslims are expected to make at least once during their lifetime." The Mecca where they will go is also in the holiest city to the Muslims in Saudi Arabia.

World religion
Today in class we talked about world religions. So far we have only gone over the first two consisting of 3.7 billion of the worlds population. The first was Christianity with 2.2 and Islam with 1.5. I am a Catholic personally, but I never knew that there were 2.2 billion behind me. In addition to that we learned that the New Testament is a lot more important to the christians than the old because those are the stories of Jesus. After we talked about them we moved onto Islam. We learned that Islam is a very intense religion. For example, women have almost no rights, have to pray five times a day on their knees, and their government is run by their religion. With the government running the government they take sins very seriously and will punish with much force. In the end, both are very respected religions and have major followings.
